D.C. Shepherd
Dave Shepherd is a recovering teacher who writes in various genres to slow the onset of senility. His first published novel, “Singing in the Chipmunk Choir”, was written at a young adult level for his grandchildren. His second, “The Only Thing Necessary: A Tale from the Cameron Line”, will appeal to readers of historical fiction and anyone who enjoys a fast-paced adventure with memorable characters.
Dave was born on the eastern edge of the Scotch settlement in southwestern Ontario. He has won a lottery twice, the first by being born in Canada and the second by acquiring English as his native language. At the age of ten, when he was hired to shoot groundhogs with a borrowed Remington .22, he realized his temperament would not permit a staid or predictable lifestyle, so he decided to try fifty different jobs during his lifetime. He isn’t going to make it, although he is almost half way there. For a full-time career, he chose to teach because no two days in education are ever the same. He considers himself an observer of humanity rather than a paid up member in good standing.
Dave lives near Barrie, Ontario. He has one wife, two cats, and three children. In no particular order, he enjoys studying history, touring by motorbike, good journalism, animals, dark beer, and other people’s Scotch.
